 Google SketchUp (free version) for Beginners

A six hour hands-on workshop in two weekly 3 hour sessions, minimum enrollment required.
Fee: $240 CDN per person, payable at registration.
This course is for every designer who wants to try out the free version of SketchUp before purchasing SketchUp Pro.
You will learn how to design in the free version of SketchUp and how to incorporate images from Photoshop into your 3D SketchUp model.
During the workshop you will design:
- a simple retail space with shelving
- commercial product and signage

Google SketchUp Pro with Kris Philpott
A six hour hands-on workshop in two weekly 3 hour sessions, minimum enrollment required.
Fee: $240 CDN per person, payable at registration.
This workshop is best suited for interior designers, architects, and graphic designers who already decided to incorporate SketchUp Pro into their workflow.
You will:
- Learn how to use existing CAD plans for 3D design a retail space with furniture, commercial product and signage in SketchUp Pro.
- Design furniture, commercial products and signage to be placed in this building.
- Import existing DWG and PDF documents and incorporate them into the Sketchup layout.
- Export Sketchup files as 2D and 3D graphics.
- Position the building on global grid using Google Earth.

As a print and publication specialist I have had to listen to the dialog "Print is Dead" for more years then I care to mention. Print will always be a necessity of the business we are in but when Amazon finally reported that they were in fact selling more books in e-publication format then hard copy, even a diehard print person has to stand up and take notice.
- This course focuses not only on how to create an ebook but on how to make your "print" documents ebooks, and possible complications of that, as well as on the various different types of e-publications formats available for both on screen and mobile device reading.
- Accessibility options for persons with low or no vision as one of many discussion topics surrounding epub.
- You have to have Adobe InDesign and Adobe Editions installed on your computer.
